Tickets on sale for 50 Men Who Cook
Begining in June: Tickets for 50 Men Who Cook will be available starting this month, at $40 per person. The event is held at the Barsema Alumni & Visitor Center Saturday, Aug. 9, 6-9 p.m. It features great food, live entertainment, 50/50 raffle, silent auction , with a cash bar. 50 Men Who Cook benefits the benefit the children of DeKalb County as a major event for CASA & Family Service Agency.

DeKalb Farmers' Market
Thursdays, June-September: The DeKalb Farmers' Market is offered each Thursday, noon-6 p.m., downtown DeKalb, from June 5-Sept. 25.

NIU alumnus exhibits artwork at DeKalb Area Women’s Center
Through June 27:
Northern Illinois University alumnus David J. Zoberis Sr. will display his new works and some older favorites at the DeKalb Area Women’s Center (DAWC) during June. Zoberis earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from NIU in 2006.The exhibit will feature watercolors of northern Illinois scenes along with a preview of one oil painting from a series of 1930s Chicago transportation scenes designed for an upcoming solo installation scheduled for October in Lincolnwood. Some of the original artworks also can be viewed at the Web site, http://www.art-exchange.com. Zoberis can be contacted at zobiesartworks@verizon.net. The public is invited to view this collection of paintings through June 27. The DAWC is open for public viewing from 7- 9 p.m. Fridays, from 6-9 p.m., and by appointment throughout the month. An artist’s reception will be Saturday, June 21, 7-9 p.m. The DAWC is located at 1021 State St., DeKalb. Parking is available in the paved lot off of Eleventh Street, one-half block south of the building. The handicapped-accessible lift can be reached from the alley north of the building. Discover Sycamore Farmers Market
Sundays, June through September, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.:
Local venders gather together in the heart of Sycamore to give visitors the opportunity to buy fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, wine from local wineries, bread and pastries made fresh. (815) 895-3456.

Sycamore Summer Concert
Thursday, June 26: "The Flat Cats," will perform a blend of modern and vintage swing and jazz. All concerts are scheduled from 7-8:30 p.m., at the Main South Shelter, south of the district swimming pool.  Concerts will also be broadcast live on WLBK 1360 AM. The NIU Convocation Center will host regional Jehova Witness members.

Sycamore Summer on State movie
Friday, June 27: Free "The Bee Movie" shown at dusk in the Sycamore Center parking lot. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, refreshments will be available for donation. (815) 895-3456.

Black and Blue Oceans
Friday, June 27: Midwest Museum of Natural History presents "Black and Blue Oceans Friday, June 27, 10-11 a.m., for ages eight and older. June 27-29: Children's Community Theatre's Imagination Camp will present "Les Miserables - The Student Edition" June 27-29, in the NIU O'Connell Theatre. Show times June 27 and June 29, are 7 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee June 29.

Drum Corps International at NIU
