DeKalb County Liners tickets will be sold Saturdays & Sundays from 10am-2pm at the DeKalb CVB Office, located at 164 E. Lincoln Highway, DeKalb, IL.

DeKalb County Liners Promotions & Events

In addition to what the Liners games offer, there will be events and giveaways occurring between innings of every game that fans can take part in!

Smash 4 Cash: One fan is selected by the Liners and will get 4 pitches to try and hit a home run out of the park before the start of every game. The prize for hitting a homer out of the park is $20.

The Liners Lucky Strike: One fan is chosen by the Liners and has the chance to throw a football and knock down all of the Liners bowling pins on the field. The prize for getting a strike is $20.

Shop Til You Drop: Two fans will be selected by the Liners to run a race down the foul line, pushing shopping carts. Winner gets a $20 gift certificate.

Mascot Derby: A fan(s) and one or more local "mascots" will run a race along the foul line. Each race participant will hold the ticket number of one game ticket, purchased by one of the fans at the game. The winner of the race will give their ticket number of their lucky fan to the announcer. If the ticket number is announced as the winning ticket number, you win $20 cash. If a fan, and not a mascot, wins the race, the fan wins a free Liners T-shirt at the merchandise stand.

Dirtiest Vehicle at the Park: Each game, the Liners will announce on the PA the license plate number of the dirtiest vehicle at the game. The winner receives a free car wash at Ralph's Car Wash in Sycamore.

Liners Slam Inning: At each game, the Liners will select one inning and one fan's ticket number to win $20, if one of the Liners hits a home run in that inning.

Liners Pals: For every game, when the Liners take the field, 9 Liners fans will accompany them out to each player's respective position on the field. Each fan will receive an autograph from the player at their position and sing the National Anthem with him. You never know when it could be your lucky day to meet one of the Liners!

Also, Music on Mondays, Special Group Nights Tuesdays, Wednesday Night Ladies Nights, Thursday Travel Night, and 50/50 Raffles all add to the fun! Visit www.linersbaseball.com for more details!

Guided Walking Tour

August 1: Take the longtime-favorite tour through historic Somonauk Street of Sycamore. The tour will feature interesting sites. The cost of the tour is $5 and will last about 1 hour and 45 minutes. The tour begins at 1pm. Visit www.sycamorehistory.org for more info.

Ice Cream Social & Band Concert

August 1: Join us for a summertime tradition! Enjoy ice cream and home-made cakes and pies in the lovely setting of the Ellwood House gardens. Free concert by the famous DeKalb Municipal Band. Adult Science Series: "Secrets of the Snake Charmer"

August 1: Midwest Museum of Natural History is hosting the Adult Science Series for kids junior high and up to adults, from 2-3:00pm. This event is a lecture and book signing. Huskies for Hope Golf Outing

August 1: Fatty's Pub and Grille and NIU's Coach Jerry Kill are hosting the Second Annual Golf Outing. The outing includes 18 holes of golf, 1/2 power cart, lunch, goodie bags, T-shirts, prizes and more! Meet Coach Kill and the NIU football team at Fatty's after golf for a buffet dinner and more fun! August 3: DeKalb County Liners play the Hannibal Cavemen at 7:00PM. It's Grandparent's Night! If you are a grandparent, bring your grandchildren to the game for half price general admission ticket! Family entertainment for everyone. Come out and join the fun at Sycamore Park on Airport Rd., just a block off 64 in Sycamore. This collegiate wooden bat league will also feature some local talent from the NIU Huskies baseball team. Don't miss the Kids Sports Zone. General Admission is $6. Lincoln Highway Buy-Way

August 5,6,7: Looking for something for you house or just want to browse through lots of stuff? Come to the Lincoln Highway yard sale! This event covers five states! The sale is located at the DeKalb Area Women's Center parking lot from 9 am to 3 pm. Friday and Saturday rain locations are inside the DWAC. Brown Bag Lunch

August 5: Join Carol Meek's fourth graders at Sycamore's History Museum's "Heartbeat of a Community: Downtown Sycamore" exhibit. The fourth graders interviewed local leaders to find about about past decisions and their visions for the future. They will be sharing the stories at the exhibit. Dissection Workshop: Sharks

August 6: The Midwest Museum of Natural History is hosting the Dissection workshop for kids 9 and up from 10-11:30am. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Fossil Find!

Glidden Homestead Tour

Carson & Barnes Circus

August 9-10: The circus is coming to town! Carson & Barnes has been entertaining children and adults across the country for over 70 years with animal acts, high wire displays, clowns and more! There will be four performances with shows at 4:30 and 7:30 each day. Tickets can be bought through the mail and at all DeKalb and Sycamore Castle Bank locations. Summer Camp: If I Ran the Museum

August 10-13: The Midwest Museum of Natural History is hosting Summer Camp: If I Ran the Museum for 3 days from 9-11am and 1-3pm. The morning session is for kids entering 1st-3rd grade, and the latter for kids entering 4th-5th grade and up. Cost for non-members is $60/child and members $55/child. Registration required. Summer Concert with Tavern Hill Liars

August 11: Visit the Sycamore History Museum for a FREE concert! The Tavern Hill Liars play a variety of music including folk, bluegrass, blues, and gospel. 50 Men Who Cook

August 14: 50 local chefs will be cooking some of their best dishes for you to sample! This will be happening at NIU's Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center from 6:00pm -9:00pm. August 15: This Mid-August tour exploring downtown Sycamore is a prelude to the Sycamore History Museum's next special exhibit that focuses on the business district over the years, "Heartbeat of A Community: Downtown Sycamore". Buildings featured include the 1874 Central Block, Stratford Inn, Ward's Hotel and Daniel Pierce Building. The cost of the tour is $5 and will last about 45 minutes. Corn Fest

August 20-22: Come to DeKalb for one the largest FREE music festivals in Illinois! This year's soundstage will be filled with music from Firehouse on Friday night, Hi Infidelity on Saturday night, and singer-songwrite Phil Vassar! With a 3 day soundstage, carnival, vendors, and airplane rides, this event is fun for everyone! Also featured is 3K race and 10K race. Corn Fest Race

August 21: Come out to DeKalb High School for a 3 km walk/run and a 10 km race! Applications must be postmarked by August 14th! Oddfest

August 21: The Independent Order of Odd Fellows Sycamore Lodge would like to invite you to their Annual Oddfest Event in downtown Sycamore from 3-11pm! Every year brings lots of family fun including stilt walkers, face painting, food, music and more! This year's entertainment will include comedy by Rick March and Friends and music by Menagerie, Roadhouse Prophets, and Chemically Imbalanced. Proceeds go to the Make a Wish Foundation and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Entry fee is $5 and the first 300 visitors get a free t-shirt!

Huskies SEE DeKalb

August 26: Downtown DeKalb welcomes the NIU Huskies back to DeKalb with this new event that is open to the entire Huskie Nation and  community members. Registration starts at 3:00pm at the Egyptian Theatre. The event runs until 8:00pm.  The NIU Alumni Association sponsored an 8:00pm showing of "The Dark Knight"  at the Egyptian Theatre. The movie is free and open to everyone .  Students specials for shopping and dining to fit a student budget will be available to those with a student I.D. The NIU Steel Band will perform at Van Buer Plaza from 4:00-5:00pm.  Additional busses provided courtesy of NIU Transportation Services and University Relations will leave the Holmes Student Center every 15 minutes starting at 2:30pm.  Students can also take the #7 downtown.
