DEKALB Ag Memories at Nehring Gallery

February 1- April 21: Enjoy a wonderful look back at the History of DeKalb Ag and the impact this company had both locally and world-wide. The "Winged Ear" is a cherished icon that is recognized globally.  Join guest speakers on Wednesdays from February 10-April 21st for the Noon Gallery Talks. Genoa's Chocolate Walk


February 6: Businesses up and down Main Street in Genoa will be offering free chocolate in all forms to visitors stopping by between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Feb. 6 as part of the Chocolate Walk. There will be everything from cake to candy and chocolate covered fruit. Look for the kisses on the doors of participating merchants. There also will be many merchant specials and do your Valentine's Day shopping while you enjoy your treats. For information, call Genoa Main Street at 815 784-6961.

The Used Alternative Rock Band Performs at the Convocation Center

February 8: Alternative rock band The USED is coming to the Convocation Center on Monday, February 8th (7:00pm-11:00pm). Tickets for The Used and special guest Atreyu are on sale now. NIU Remembers:  A Day of Reflection

February 14: Please join the campus community on February 14th for the events and programs intended to remember those whom we lost, to reflect upon the tragedy that affected our campus, and to continue the healing of the Huskie community.  All are encouraged to attend and participate in the day's events. Dowtown DeKalb Wedding Walk

February 28: Downtown DeKalb will host the second annual DeKalb Wedding Walk on Sunday, February 28, 2010-(12:30-5:00pm). Admission is free. Registration for the event will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Eduardo’s Restaurant located at 214 E. Lincoln Hwy. From 1:00-3:00 p.m. Attendees will tour Downtown DeKalb businesses that specialize in a variety of wedding related services such as gifts for the wedding party, wedding attire for the entire wedding party, a location for your rehearsal dinner or even a website created just for your wedding and much more. At 2:00 p.m. there will be a vendor reception located in the lobby of the Egyptian Theatre. Here brides will have the opportunity to meet with vendors in the wedding industry from the DeKalb area and learn how they can help make their special day even more perfect. At 3:30 p.m. brides can relax and finish the day by watching a fashion show at the Egyptian Theatre featuring apparel from Ducky’s Formal Wear & Prom Shop and The Bridal Shoppe by Ruth for the Bride, Bridesmaids and Flower Girls.
