DeKalb County Liners tickets will be sold Saturdays & Sundays from 10am-2pm at the DeKalb CVB Office, located at 164 E. Lincoln Highway, DeKalb, IL.
DeKalb County Liners Promotions & Events
In addition to what the Liners games already offer, there will be events and giveaways occurring between innings of every game that fans can take part in!
Smash 4 Cash: One fan is selected by the Liners and will get 4 pitches to try and hit a home run out of the park before the start of every game. The prize for hitting a homer out of the park is $20.
The Liners Lucky Strike: One fan is chosen by the Liners and has the chance to throw a football and knock down all of the Liners bowling pins on the field. The prize for getting a strike is $20.
Shop Til You Drop: Two fans will be selected by the Liners to run a race down the foul line, pushing shopping carts. Winner gets a $20 gift certificate.
Mascot Derby: A fan(s) and one or more local "mascots" will run a race along the foul line. Each race participant will hold the ticket number of one game ticket, purchased by one of the fans at the game. The winner of the race will give their ticket number of their lucky fan to the announcer. If the ticket number is announced as the winning ticket number, you win $20 cash. If a fan, and not a mascot, wins the race, the fan wins a free Liners T-shirt at the merchandise stand.
Dirtiest Vehicle at the Park: Each game, the Liners will announce on the PA the license plate number of the dirtiest vehicle at the game. The winner receives a free car wash at Ralph's Car Wash in Sycamore.
Liners Slam Inning: At each game, the Liners will select one inning and one fan's ticket number to win $20, if one of the Liners hits a home run in that inning.
Liners Pals: For every game, when the Liners take the field, 9 Liners fans will accompany them out to each player's respective position on the field. Each fan will receive an autograph from the player at their position and sing the National Anthem with him. You never know when it could be your lucky day to meet one of the Liners!
Also, Music on Mondays, Special Group Nights Tuesdays, Wednesday Night Ladies Nights, Thursday Travel Night, and 50/50 Raffles all add to the fun! Visit www.linersbaseball.com for more details!
DeKalb Farmer's Market
June 3-September 30: The DeKalb Farmer's Market will take place every Thursday from June through September in the Van Buer Plaza the corner of 2nd and Locust from Noon-6PM! The market will include fresh, local produce, baked goods, crafts, wine, cheese and much more. Don't miss the Live Lunch Music Series presented by the Egyptian Theatre from Noon-1:30. Concerts in the Park

1st Annual Biplane & Antique/Classic Fly-In & Drive-In
June 2-6: Visitors and community members will have a rare opportunity to see up close antique and vintage aircraft at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport, located at 3232 Pleasant St. in DeKalb, IL. From Wednesday, June 2 through Sunday, June 6, 2010, this open to the public event offers flights and up-close viewings of the WWII 1930 New Standard D-25 biplane, a PT-17 Boeing Stearman, and other antique aircraft. The event is sponsored by Steve Miller, Inc. The 45th Annual Pancake Breakfast is Sunday, June 6 from 7am-1pm as well. This event allows for biplane rides that can hold up to 4 passengers--perfect for a family adventure! And for the daring--the opportunity to co-pilot a -Stearman plane for 30 minutes! Kingston Community Garage Sales

Ladies Night Out

Wizard of Oz, Swan Lake & More
June 4-6:
“The Wizard of Oz, Swan Lake & More” will be performed by the Beth Fowler Dance Company and students of the Beth Fowler School of Dance from both Genoa and St. Charles locations. The show will open with excerpts from Swan Lake and continue with a variety of dance styles from contemporary to Hip Hop. After a short intermission, the production will conclude with a magical condensed performance of The Wizard of Oz featuring special effects and music from the original movie sound track, featuring Judy Garland. This favorite classic will come to life on stage and be enjoyed by the entire family.
The production will be performed at the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb. Tickets purchased before May 26 are $18.00 for adults and $12.00 for children 12 & under. After May 26, tickets are $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for children 12 & under.

Any organized sports team (kids 12 and under) that attends the game in uniform will receive free general admission to the game, for all players and up to 3 coaches for the team. Egyptian Theatre Evening of Elegance
June 5: Prepared to be entertained. An evening full of appetizers, dinner, live auction and Teddy Roosevelt being portrayed by Joe Wiegand. Wiegand is regarded as the nation's premiere Theodore Roosevelt impersonator. He has toured the country with special performances at the White House and Roosevelt's birthplace in New York City.

3rd Annual Fun Fair For Hope

June 12-13: DeKalb County is proud to welcome back this annual bike ride that raises funds for MS. There will be approximately 1,800 bike riders that "Accept the Challenge" to ride from 35-175 miles that weekend. J.F. Glidden Homstead Opens New Blacksmith Shop
June 13: The long-awaited Grand Opening of the Glidden Blacksmith Shop is Sunday, June 13, noon-4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate as blacksmith, Chris Hubbard of DeKalb, demonstrates his craft. Tours of the Homestead and other exhibits also will be offered. The Blacksmith Shop is located in the former Mill House behind the Homestead at 921 W. Lincoln Hwy., DeKalb, between Copy Service and Burger King.
From forge to blowers, anvils to antique metal-working tools, the Glidden Blacksmith shop is fully equipped with the tools of the blacksmithing trade.

Summer Camp: Myth Busters
June 15-18: The Midwest Museum is hosting Summer Camp: Myth Busters for kids of all ages. For three days, kids entering 1st grade-3rd grade are able to attend from 9am-11am, and kids 4th grade and up can attend from 1pm-3pm. Orion Samuel speaks at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau
June 30: Orion Samuelson (WGN radio) will be sharing his stories about agricultural changes he has seen during his lifetime, from the family farm to international agri-business. This program is brought to the public by the Sycamore History Museum. It celebrates our agricultural roots and the current exhibit, " Memories of the Farm," which features stories about the role our community has played in agriculture. Tickets are $15 per person. The DeKalb County Farm Bureau is located at 1350 W. Prairie Drive, in Sycamore. Tickets can be purchased at the Sycamore History Museum, Sycamore Chamber, and the DeKalb County Farm Bureau. Doors open at 6:30pm and their are a limited number of tickets. The program begins at 7:00pm. Light refreshments will be served afterward.
